Designated a specialized center within the Molecular Libraries Probe Production Centers Network (MLPCN), Southern Research Institute established the Specialized Biocontainment Screening Center (SRSBSC). The SRSBSC scientists have expertise in the development and implementation of assays for high throughput screening (HTS) for network participants that require level 2 or 3 containment for infectious agent platforms. The HTS containment facilities of the SRSBSC are certified by the CDC for handling select agents.
